I visited my son
and daughter-in-law
in Brookline.
October was a fine time
to visit them
in their new home,
a 1940's building
across from a rose garden.
The visit made me realize that
I need to see my son as the adult
man that he is,
And to detach myself from his idyllic
childhood in Alaska.
This realization alone
was worth the visit...
So I accept...
my age, his age, his wife, their life,
and celebrate changes.
