So Much to Do!

Feeling overwhelmed today...siding to be cleaned, grass to cut, etc., etc., ok....relax!  Take a deep breath.  I can do this!

Oh, What a Beautiful Morning!

Around 6:30 a.m. I woke up and opened my back door to the sound of a symphony in the yard.  It seemed as though every bird in town was singing!  What a gift!  As you can see, my cat enjoyed the spectacle also.

Letter to God

I keep a journal of letters that I write to God.  Sometimes he writes back...I just saw a bookmark with the phrase:  "Nothing is impossible."  Christopher Reeve penned that.
My letter to God is simple today: "Dear God, please help me to re-locate from Tarboro.  I've Been in Tarboro for 17 years.  Way too long.  God, this is a HARD place for a single, intelligent woman.  I need more that what I have here!

The Good About Today!

The first thing I saw when I opened the kitchen curtains was the bluebirds!  There they were, on the box.  What a sight to behold...if I can only keep the starlings away.
Also the finches are back.  Their bright yellow feathers just gleam in the sun!

Marketing the House

I'm upset that there is only one photo up of my house and no written description.  How can they expect houses to sell if they are not being marketed?  Very frustrating.

Listing the House for Sale

Last month, I ordered a helpful book from Amazon, "The Complete Idiot's Guide to Buying and Selling a Home."  It has the helpful hint to get the realtor to "show" me a house comparable to mine, as if I'm a buyer.  So, I've asked her to do that.  The house I want to see is $112,000, which is where I'm thinking about pricing mine.  Hope I can do this this afternoon.  It helps having a local realtor, especially when they are right up the street!
Well, Maggie told me the house I wanted to see has a pool and is out in the country, and for that reason it really wasn't really comparable to mine.  The next day she came over with the papers for me to sign and that was it!  The sign is up now in the yard.

Finding the Right Realtor

Finding the right realtor is a little like casting a play.  I want the right advocate to represent the house and represent my interests.  So far, I've interviewed Coldwell-Banker, Century 21, Keller Williams, and finally, a local agency, Tarboro Realty.  Maggie, the agent from Tarboro Realty is professional and easy going.  It's getting hard to find a seller's agent, as dual agents seem to be the preferred choice among realtors.  Supposedly, dual agents can equally represent the seller and the buyer.  Is this really possible?  I guess one advantage is that a dual agent has a ready list of potential buyers.  However, LOTS of homes are for sale in T'town but I trust that just the right person is out there for my sweet house.
