On Faith

Isaac Singer once said that "doubt is part of all religion.  All the religious thinkers were doubters."

Sometimes we have trouble believing what is in front of our eyes, let alone what we can't see. There are periods when we feel the remoteness of God.  However, the pain and fear of these episodes can cause our faith to grow stronger.  However bleak the dry spell we are passing through, we have not been abandoned.  The grace that saved us before is still there and will be revealed in God's time, not as the result of anything we do or fail to do.

Just for today, I accept things as they are and reaffirm that I have placed my life in God's hands.
