Meditation for Today

I have a difficult neighbor who had a drinking problem and never got help for it.  He seems sad, lonely, and judgmental.  A widower, his wife died in child birth 40 years ago.  I can separate the person from the illness.  "Hurt people hurt."  I can still feel some respect for him, even though I choose not to interact with him.
