Just had a chat with Francis Lawrence, my exercise teacher. Former principal dancer with the Dance Theatre of Harlem. He recommends the following for exercise and how to avoid soreness:
1. Amino acids are real important. I think I'll use eggs, miso, quinoia, legumes and maybe some animal protein. Don't forget about beans.
2. Magnesium tablets every morning. I forget to take those sometimes...might want to consider a magnesium/potassium tablet...
3. Epsom salts bath afterward.
4. Find out what foods have potassium.
5. AVOID SWEETS LIKE THE PLAGUE!!!
Consider a Chinese massage (cheaper than regular)...
and my advice ---
π avoid whining about your pain -- if someone asks how you're doing, just say "ok".
π remember it's ok to be slow and take it a little easier
π relax with Zen music from YouTube
π think about the rewards of exercise: toning up and getting stronger
π consider getting a Chinese massage (they're cheaper, usually)
π watching dance is therapeutic also
